To kick off the new year, on January 28 I am participating in the 2023 Sunshine State Book Festival, at Trinity United Methodist Church, 4000 NW 53rd Avenue Gainesville, Florida. This is the fourth time I have taken part in this festival and I can tell you it’s a blast.
The Sunshine State Book Festival brings readers and writers together and this year the festival will feature 150 authors writing in 15 genres. Photos of participating authors are displayed alphabetically on the 2023 Authors page. Look for me at exhibit space #83. Over a third of these authors have won literary awards so expect a great time.
This year’s keynote address will be given by Janis Owens, author of four novels, a regional cookbook, and a book of nonfiction. She will speak on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. Learn more about Janis here.
New in 2023, presentations by over two dozen participating festival authors:
• 10 readings by authors in various genres
• 12 children’s book authors telling stories to kids
• Other Worlds – a panel of 4 fantasy and science-fiction authors
There are plenty of Events for everyone.
Meet authors who will discuss, sell, and sign their books at the festival.
Books in 15 genres will be for sale.
There will be hourly drawings for free books given to attendees.
Children’s book authors will supply free worksheets/coloring sheets to children.
Students in the school essay contest will receive prizes.
Don’t miss this great kick-off to 2023. Join me Saturday, January 28 from 10 AM to 5 PM at Trinity United Methodist Church (directions). See you there!
